Position Summary
To continue to fuel our growth, we are seeking a Software Engineer to join as a key contributor to our Document Verification (DocV) engineering team. Trulioo’s DocV engineering team is responsible for developing a distributed cloud platform that supports production API services, big data infrastructure, and processes machine learning. Trulioo utilizes the best available tools, instruments, and practices to create a world class platform and we are looking for the talent that will help us stay on the cutting edge of technology.
This is a full-time position located in our Vancouver office and will report to our Manager, Engineering.
What you will be doing:
- Applying cutting edge technologies to modern cloud application development
- Collaborating with UX and Product Management to craft customer-focused solutions and forward-looking product strategy
- Working with a team of high-performance software engineers to architect, design and deliver new products and user experiences
- Working closely with senior technical team to keep the technology competitive and up to date
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
- Owning a product release from discovery to deployment
You have:
- 3+ years of professional programming experience
- Proficient in Java and/or Kotlin programming languages
- Experience with REST API’s and 3rd party system integration
- Experience with microservice architecture and design patterns
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g. Gitlab CI/CD)
- High technical standards demonstrated using design patterns, clean coding, peer reviews, and unit testing
- Proficient in agile software development and good collaboration skills with multiple teams
- Meeting deadlines while effectively managing priorities and communicating progress
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- A mentor who brings out the best in their team and helps them grow
It's a bonus if you have...
- Experience with database for collecting metrics for data analytics (SQL and noSQL)
- Experience with AWS infrastructure and services for code deployment
- Familiarity with gRPC for API development
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes
- Understanding of distributed messaging systems like Kafka
