The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance will oversee a team of seasoned QA engineers, providing mentorship and helping the team succeed. The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance is an experienced people manager and technical leader who can guide teams to perform at their best and remove any blockers that may appear.
Responsibilities:
- Drive long-term technical vision and strategy for QA and release management including designing and developing robust test automation frameworks and strategies to optimize test efficiency and ensure the highest standards of software quality.
- Provide hands-on technical management, guidance and support to your team, helping prioritize their work, making difficult trade-off decisions, and ultimately being responsible for on-time deliverables and high-quality software.
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics and KPIs to evaluate testing effectiveness.
- Manage and maintain release pipelines to ensure we deliver value to customers via continuous deployment process or full release processes.
- Provide guidance on testing methodologies and oversee the testing process for multiple projects including proactively assessing risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Stay up to date with, and ensure that, quality assurance and release management processes align with industry standards and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for enhancing processes and/or tools and driving process improvements where applicable.
- Help troubleshoot production issues as needed.
- Assist leadership in project planning, scheduling and resource allocations.
- Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, to ensure software products meet or exceed expectations and product goals.
- Oversee hiring and staffing for your team including, but not limited to, building effective onboarding plans, setting clear performance expectations, providing continuous feedback, and initiating performance improvement plans when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of QA experience with a substantial track record of excellence in developing and implementing scalable QA strategies and solving complex technical challenges.
- 3+ years of people management experience with demonstrated team building and empowerment skills and proven ability to build scalable and high performing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading multiple projects, guiding QA teams, and driving process improvements.
- Advanced practical experience and a deep understanding of QA principles, methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proficient in Java, Java Script, Selenium WebDriver or similar programming languages.
- Proven experience in testing REST endpoints and in API tools such as Postman.
- Hands-on experience with GIT version control and with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI or Jenkins.
- Working knowledge on performance tools such as JMeter.
- Proven experience in multiple software QA approaches: automated front-end (UI) testing for SaaS products, back-end testing, unit/integration/system testing, black/white-box testing, coverage analysis, penetration testing, performance testing, cross-platform testing, and QA reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with strong knowledge of SQL or other scripting languages.
- Experience with HIPAA, HITRUST, or other high security environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to balance business needs, a sense of urgency, and shipping high quality, pragmatic solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to build successful relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization, including an ability to promote ideas persuasively and effectively, win buy-in for initiatives and work through conflicts with a clear emphasis on collaboration and alignment.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to think critically to quickly and accurately work through challenges in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
- Ability to work standard business hours within the Eastern or Central time zones.
Physical Demands:
- Work is performed 100% from home with no requirement to travel. This is a stationary position that requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards as well as to talk or hear by telephone. Sit or stand as needed.
$141,000 - $171,000 a yearThe pay range for this position in the US is $141,000 - $171,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We are open to compensation negotiations. This role can be located anywhere in the US.
