Under guidance from the Senior Director of Transportation Programs, the Director of US Transportation Programs will oversee a portfolio of electric transportation programs spanning several states, with the greatest concentration in the northeastern US. The Director will be responsible for managing customer accounts with a number of state agencies, and leading a department of motivated and high-performing staff that deliver exceptional work. The Director will ensure that project teams are meeting quality and contractual obligations for administering large incentive programs and will be an active participant in CSE’s leadership to support business development and innovative services.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Lead US Transportation Programs department and associated portfolio of multiple projects, including account management, staff management, business development, client services.
- Ensure departmental compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, project budgets, staff performance expectations.
- Participate in new business development efforts for CSE, including proposal development, identifying opportunities, and negotiating contracts in the following sectors: federal, state and local governments, utilities and private businesses.
- Lead team of project managers and project support staff, including collaborative engagement with CSE matrix departments.
- Establish and nurture senior level relationships with key partners in the clean transportation space.
- Identify opportunities that will result in growth and deliver value to the business and ideally be applicable to multiple industries.
- Oversee several direct reports, and provide mentorship, performance evaluation, and project staffing.
- Develop cross functional collaboration with other CSE team members, supporting one another and sharing expertise on new product offerings, proposal preparation/submissions for new contract development.
- Attends select conferences, meetings, and industry events to network and develop new business, present on CSE project work and subject matter expertise.
- Represent client’s needs to drive impactful collaboration with cross-functional teams in software development, product development, program management, marketing, and research/data analysis aimed to grow CSE’s revenue generation.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Required
- Knowledge of the clean transportation policy landscape, various utility and government incentive programs and CSE clients (i.e., New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, California Air Resources Board, etc.)
- Ability to develop high level client relationships and conduct successful negotiations with customers.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the business potential.
- Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with internal and external partners, as well as to collaborate with cross-function teams to guide implementation of strategic business plan and accomplish goals on tight deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills both in person and virtual.
Preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of EVs and EV charging technology is a plus
- Experience managing grant projects with state agencies is a plus

- Bachelors Degree
- Masters Degree preferred
Experience:
- 7 years of relevant experience in program and account management, preferably related to electric transportation and customer incentive programs
Salary Range: $115,600 - $151,000
