The Task At-Hand:
The Quality Lab Technician reports to the Quality Lab Manager and is integral to ensuring that all JuneShine products meet our high-quality standards. This role involves monitoring and recording data for quality checks throughout the brewing and packaging processes.Who You Are:You are a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will closely collaborate with our brewing and packaging teams, contributing to day-to-day problem-solving in the lab.
You should also be enthusiastic about JuneShine Brands and eager to contribute ideas for improvement.In This Role You Will:• Assist in ensuring all product meets JuneShine Brands quality standards, including required analytical, sensory, microbiological, and packaging.• Perform daily tank checks to monitor temperature, head pressure, ABV, gravity, pH, titratable acidity (TA), and sensory.• Log data into appropriate spreadsheets and quality databases• Ensure timely performance of all quality control (QC) checks and approvals on the production floor.• Proactively identify out-of-trend data and assist in troubleshooting quality issues, including, but not limited to: fermentation delays, out-of-specification analytics, and sensory concerns.• Assist in performing microbiology testing of all products• Prepare media and sterile equipment for microbiological testing.• Maintain the finished product library for internal investigations and shelf-life evaluations.• Work closely with brewing and packaging teams to ensure all product quality standards are met.Must Haves:• Age 21 or older at the time of application• College degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent experience.• Minimum of one year's experience in a brewery or winery, with a fundamental understanding of pressurized systems, equipment cleaning (CIPs), yeast and/or bacteria handling, and safety protocols.• Willingness to work alternative workweek schedule: 4-day/10-hour shifts, between 6 AM and 10 PM, and availability for weekends when needed• Proficiency in college-level algebra• Proficiency in Excel• Desire to work in a fast-paced, growing company• Strong attention to detail• Experience with microbial identificationCompensation: Full-Time, Hourly ($24.00), Non-Exempt Additional:• Unlimited Paid Time Off• Healthcare Benefits; up to 90% contribution for employees and 25% for dependent medical.
