You would report to the Sr Manager Revenue,Cost & Accounting Operations and will be very familiar with technical accounting requirements (FASB and SEC Rules and Regulations) around revenue recognition(ASC 606, IFRS 15), cost and inventory accounting.
You will work in a highly visible environment and will be responsible for determining proper revenue recognition on hardware and software /SaaS sales arrangements, perform gross margin analysis, perform necessary accounting for inventories including participating in cycle and year end physical counts, assisting in the management of internal controls, preparing reporting analyses for management, and assist in the design of new business and system processes.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Revenue and cost related activities: month & quarter end close entries, reconciliation of accounts, inventory management, standard cost setting, margin analysis and other ad hoc duties.
- Review of revenue arrangements to determine the appropriate accounting treatment, address potential issues, and document conclusions in support of fast evolving enterprise business.
- Work with cross-functional teams to design and improve upon business and system processes enabling scalable operations for new offerings and sales motions with the goal of accurate revenue accounting in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist in the research and preparation of technical accounting analysis of new software, hardware, cloud, and services offerings.
- Perform Royalties and Rebates accounting.
- Assist in the preparation of sales commissions files for the business.
- Perform control activities required to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 as related to Order to cash, Inventory accounting and Procurement.
- Prepare various month-end and quarter-end journal entries.
- Assist accounting team in preparation of filings (10Q,10K), tie out support, disclosures and analysis.
- Assist the department in other ad-hoc accounting tasks as necessary or as delegated.
Experience/Requirements:
- Possesses strong technical accounting research skills and ability to identify practical applications of the accounting standards.
- Possesses both technical and operational expertise in inventories and cost accounting.
- Exhibits a combination of analytical skills matched with strong communication in working on strategic initiatives cross-functionally within the organization.
- Strong ability to assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
- Must have excellent communication and coordination skills, specially in working with people outside the accounting department.
- Has great overall business acumen particularly in the telecommunications and/or technology space.
- Advanced Excel skill (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience, with a preferred mix of public accounting and industry experience. (note: direct from audit firm candidate at least at a senior auditor level will be highly considered)
Salary Range: $93,081 - $115,000This base pay range will vary depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
