The preferred candidate would be located/work in Pacific Standard or Mountain Standard time. In office work may occasionally be required.
SUMMARY
The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for the books and records of multiple legal entities and related consolidations. This highly visible position interacts with multiple stakeholders within the organization. The GL Accountant partners with the Finance Manager and Controller to improve and streamline financial and accounting operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.· Records daily bank transactions including ensuring invoices for ACH payments have been uploaded· Records credit card transactions along with receipt upload to QuickBooks· Assists with Brightree close and related reports· Processes check stop payments· The GLA will implement new monthly close procedures as needed and perform monthly closes on a regular basis· Responsible for assisting in preparation for the company’s financial audits· Prepares lead schedules & roll-forwards· Prepares weekly cashflow forecast· Prepares and makes journal entries· Reconciles all GL accounts· Reconciles bank and credit card accounts· Coordinates the completion of all monthly close checklist items· Prepares schedules for ad hoc analyses· Prepares amortization schedules· Maintains accounting department electronic files· Performs payables entries· Other duties as assigned · Acts as the back-up for AP positionRequirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s or Associates degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience· 5+ years working as a GL Accountant is required· Strong attention to detail· Motivated by taking initiative and solving problems· Ability to work independently· But must be a team player· Strong math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages · Advanced/Expert level Excel skills are required · Intermediate understand of basic accounting principles and GAAP· Must be proficient in MS Office tools · Ability and willingness to learn new technology· Desire for professional development—willingness to earn· Auditing background helpful · Experience with QuickBooks online preferred· Experience with Brightree a strong plus· Experience in the healthcare industry a strong plusSalary Description$20.00-$36.00/hour
