We are looking for a dynamic, driven, and passionate leader to build, grow, and run a manufacturing team in a fast-paced and fun environment. We need an individual comfortable developing an organization and processes to support the unique needs of the genomics industry. We are building a fully integrated Operations team to work closely with our technology and product development teams to empower the scientific community and accelerate our collective impact on humanity. Our Manufacturing Supervisor will be leading a team of FTE and contractor technicians responsible for production execution across the entire Flow Cell Manufacturing value stream.If you possess the following and want to make a meaningful impact, we invite you to explore this role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Directs manufacturing leads and team members to ensure that day-to-day production goals are met.
  • Generates and communicates production build schedules and work assignments, based on material demand, business timelines, and staffing availability.
  • Leads Tier 1 / shift start-up meetings. Ensures attainment of key performance metrics across safety, quality, delivery, and financial performance areas.
  • Drive adherence to quality systems and procedures. Assists in development and implementation of quality systems to maximize the quality of products and services and continuously increase levels of customer satisfaction, while minimizing losses and waste.
  • Ensures the safety of our associates, protection of physical assets and compliance with environmental, health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Partners with manager to carry out responsibilities such as hiring, job assignments, termination recommendations, transfers, promotions, salary actions, and performance assessments.
  • Holds regular 1:1 with reports to provide performance feedback, coaching and support associate development.
  • Partners with Process Engineering and other support groups to drive continuous improvement and innovation of manufacturing processes and systems to increase safety, quality, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Collaborates with all business functions to support product development and technology transfer, introduction into manufacturing, and product launch and support of new products and processes.
  • Contributes to technical documentation like SOPs, WIs, BRs, change requests, quality records, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:


  • BS in science or engineering discipline with 2+ years of progressive manufacturing/engineering experience in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or diagnostic manufacturing
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of managing and supervising others is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in the life science industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO13485 is a plus.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) and experience communicating with diverse technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and technically challenging environment where drive is critical to success.
  • Strong inclination and passion for continuous improvement.
  • Passion for developing talent utilizing creative and effective programs and practices with a successful track record of attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse team.
  • Experience with manufacturing-related business systems, like ERP, MES, QMS (Quality Management System), and PLM.
  • Strong people skills including patience, sound judgement, empathy, diplomacy, conflict resolution, mediation, and flexibility.
  • Ability to critically think and proactively solve problems of varying complexity.
  • Basic understanding of DNA and sequencing principles.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to perform descriptive data analysis using Excel or other data visualization/analysis tools.
