Hive Group is a rapidly growing professional services firm working in the federal procurement space. We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team to lead our business development and capture management process initially focused on growth at Civilian agencies with future expansion in Defense and Intelligence agencies. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved on the ground floor of a rapidly growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Hubzone certified!

Job Responsibilities:


The BD/Capture Manager will focus on the full range of activities from opportunity identification and qualification through proposal and transition support. The candidate will report to the Vice President, Business Development and will work closely with the delivery organization with the execution of the account growth strategy. 

  • Work closely with senior leaders to identify, refine, and execute growth strategies
  • Achieve yearly sales (Total Contract Value) targets and build a forward-leaning opportunity pipeline focused on small business opportunities and large business partnerships
  • Prepare, present, and mature opportunities through defined Capture Management Process
  • Identify potential opportunities, arrange meetings, initiate marketing strategies, build and strengthen company relationships
  • Develop and execute effective call plans for meetings with target clients, program managers, and industry partners
  • Support outreach to civilian agencies, including assistance with building new partnerships and communication strategies; developing methods to expand customer base; and developing strategies to help ensure consistent, efficient, and effective solutions
  • Assist in the development of successful pricing strategies, identifying risks, and interpreting solicitation requirements with delivery staff, SMEs and proposal managers on win themes
  • Interface and manage teaming partners for existing relationship as well as developing potential future partners for upcoming opportunities
  • Meet or exceed established performance goals in support of overall corporate growth and success
  • Research market for competition, partnership opportunities, and winning industry trends

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 10 years experience supporting federal business growth efforts including business development, capture management and proposal development.
  • Experience identifying, qualifying and winning proposals in the Civilian market. Experience with Defense and Intelligence agencies is a plus. 
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition, contract, financial management and program management organization (PMO) lifecycles
  • Knowledge of current and future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information that may impact corporate business performance within the civilian market
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
  • Mature and active network of contacts relevant to the market and the contractor industry that supports and operates within those markets
  • Proven experience building and leading proposal teams
  • Experience growing and transitioning from a small business to a large business is a plus
