Tenna is seeking a dedicated Installation Mechanic to join our Field Services Team. In this role, you will install Tenna product trackers on mid-sized vehicles and heavy equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and consult with customers on installations as needed. You will also train Tenna customers on best practices for hardware installation and the proper use of Tenna products. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, with a background in heavy-duty construction or automotive equipment, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills and building positive relationships with Tenna’s customers are essential for success in this role.

Your Responsibilities:


  • Install Tenna product trackers on mid-sized vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Test trackers and equipment after installations to ensure performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Test equipment for fault tolerance and determine required repairs.
  • Train Tenna customers on best practices for hardware installation and proper use of Tenna products.
  • Effectively troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues associated with Tenna’s equipment and systems.
  • Ensure installations are completed according to Tenna’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge on the use of the Tenna Asset Management System and its associated products.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Success team to ensure customer satisfaction and effective service delivery.
  • Receive and respond quickly to all telephone and email inquiries related to product installation, sales, or management team queries.
  • Proactively anticipate equipment needs, set priorities, and meet assigned tasks.
  • Work safely and efficiently at all times.
  • Process expenses and daily timekeeping in a timely manner.
  • Write effective daily notes to document your work.

Qualifications:


  • 5+ years’ experience as a heavy-duty equipment mechanic or automotive mechanic required.
  • 3+ years’ experience performing skilled automotive work, including inspections, diagnosis, and maintenance on special equipment required.
  • A high school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Electrical experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong attention to detail. Diligence and organization in managing information.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable person with a strong service orientation and “do what it takes” attitude.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to write comprehensive daily notes.
  • Basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office, Word, etc., are required.
  • Work requires regular exposure to construction site environments, outdoor elements, and a variety of climates, including high and low temperatures, with frequent travel required.
