The Team: 


The Investment Management team drives the innovation and development of wealth management products that provide automation and scale to strategy and portfolio management, trade optimization, portfolio rebalancing, broker and custodian integrations. 

The Opportunity:


As an engineer on the Investment Management team, you will get the opportunity to contribute to the next generation of tax management software for the wealth management and financial services industry. You will collaborate closely with our product team to understand our software and develop new product features and enhance our existing features. You will learn and enhance MyVest’s core portfolio optimization features and rebalancing algorithms.

  • You’re experienced in Agile methodologies, adept at collaborating with team members on story-based development with a focus on defining clear acceptance criteria.
  • You have an interest in finance, investing, and the growing influence of financial technology (fintech).
  • You are committed to staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, continually seeking opportunities for professional growth and development.

Ideal Experience:


  • Java, Web Services (RESTful endpoints), Spring, and Hibernate are technologies you regularly develop products in.
  • You are capable of debugging systems using tools and techniques to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • You understand relational databases (SQL, Data Modeling) and can integrate them into enterprise products. You have experience in optimization to improve system performance.
  • You have participated in or supported complex development projects, following project plans under the guidance of a technical lead.
  • You have some experience with NoSQL, ideally Cassandra/CQL, and scalable distributed systems.
  • You are familiar with Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles and strive to implement them to ensure code quality and system resilience.
  • You are learning to incorporate metrics instrumentation and are starting to implement and monitor performance and reliability metrics to improve features and projects.

Location:


  • While MyVest is in a hybrid (office and work-from-home) work model, this role is required to be in the office frequently.  MyVest will fill this position in the San Francisco Bay Area only.

Compensation and Benefits:


  • Base salary for this role will be between $163,000 to $180,000.  Placement in this range depends upon a variety of factors including prior relevant experience and skill set. 
  • The range listed above is just one component of MyVest's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation includes an annual bonus, long-term incentives, and program-specific stipends.
