Fairstead is seeking an Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist to join our property management team. In this role, the Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining compliance with Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) and HUD Special Claims. Also ensuring all requirements are completed.
Responsibilities:
- Pull all monthly and quarterly EIV reports for all HUD properties.
- Run all 90-day EIV income reports for all move ins.
- Work with site staff on all New Hires and Discrepancies.
- Monitor progress on all New Hires.
- Monitor progress on all discrepancies until final completion is verified.
- Monitor the Special Claims process.
- Work closely with site staff to ensure all documents required to submit Special Claims are uploaded timely.
- Prepare and submit all Special Claims submissions.
- Performs other duties assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have prior Project Based Section 8 experience.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience with Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) processes required.
- Two (2) years of affordable housing compliance experience with knowledge HUD Secure Systems.
- Yardi experience is preferred but not required.
- Special Claims experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills- written and oral.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including experience managing people (in multiple locations preferred).
- Extremely detail-oriented.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel functions.
- Yardi experience (preferred) or ability to learn new software quickly.
