The Opportunity


Our client, a local government organization, seeks an experienced Application Architect to join their Information Technology Department. This role focuses on technically assisting with the integration of third-party software systems, leading efforts to merge new vendor solutions with existing County applications and infrastructure, primarily using .NET technologies and API-based integrations.Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the design, development, and integration efforts of .NET-based systems with new software, ensuring compatibility with existing applications.
  • Coordinate with vendor and County technical leads for seamless integration during larger implementations, focusing on API-driven interactions and services.
  • Manage integration architecture throughout the software development lifecycle, including planning, execution, testing, and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation such as technical diagrams, network architecture, and deployment plans, specifically for .NET and API-based integrations.
  • Oversee and guide software developers in meeting project milestones and quality standards, ensuring adherence to .NET coding standards and API protocols.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and management, reporting on integration progress, tracking development, and identifying potential issues.
  • Manage user acceptance testing (UAT) and collaborate with stakeholders on validation activities, focusing on API-based communication between systems.
  • Create and execute detailed technical plans for testing and software compliance, including API testing and .NET integration validation.
  • Address and resolve major project-related incidents and problems, especially those related to system interoperability and integration.
  • Operate in an Agile environment, with a preference for experience in Microsoft Azure DevOps.

Compensation and Term This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $124,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.Qualifications you

A successful Application Architect has the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with a focus on software development.
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in software development and system integration, including .NET development and API integrations.
  • Proven experience with large-scale IT projects using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing system integrations between third-party and in-house applications, with a strong focus on .NET technologies and API-based services (REST, SOAP).
  • Demonstrated success in leading .NET and API-based software integration projects in an enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with IT project management and vendor coordination.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar platforms for project tracking and code management.
  • Strong understanding of system and integration architecture, data concepts, and various integration methods, particularly in .NET environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
