Overview
Lightning Labs is looking for a Lightning Developer Evangelist who is passionate about bringing bitcoin to the next billion people with the Lightning Network. This role will be focused on growing and connecting with the global Lightning developer community. The ideal candidate would have experience organizing community events, a track record of building Lightning-related projects, and a drive to continually improve the developer experience of building with Lightning.
Responsibilities:
Developer Community Engagement
Embed yourself in the global Lightning developer community, from application builders to routing node operators to protocol developers. Understand their priorities and how Lightning Labs can help.
Attract new developers to the Lightning Network by creating projects exploring the possibilities of what can be built, highlighting community projects, and helping to organize opportunities for new developers to get involved.
Organize developer and community calls to communicate the latest updates from Lightning Labs, and help the product and engineering teams incorporate external feedback.
Business Development
Source new potential customers, from new Lightning-first developers to bitcoin technical teams that want to add Lightning support to existing companies that want to integrate Lightning into their products.
Support existing customers as a point of contact for issues with their software and by explaining new features and the business-related impacts of upgrading.
Understand developers’ business goals, and connect them with ecosystem participants that will help them succeed.
Location:
Global and remote. Proximity to US time zones would be ideal.

Passion for bitcoin, Lightning, and the mission of bringing financial freedom to the world.
Proactive and creative problem solver with a focus on solving real problems for real people.
Excellent communicator both externally regarding Lightning Labs’s developer tools, and internally regarding learnings from community discussions.
Enthusiastic about trying new things and energized by creative challenges.
Preferred:
Track record of open source contributions or public application development.
Experience presenting developer-focused content at conferences or meetups.
