Member of Technical Staff, Corporate Engineering

For our colleagues not located near our beautiful offices, we encourage and sponsor quarterly in-person collaboration days to work together and further deepen our Village. As a Member of Technical Staff on the Corporate Engineering team, you are responsible for ensuring that the village is supported in our usage of technology platforms. You are a strong individual contributor and you have the ability to significantly contribute to and execute moderate major Corporate Engineering projects, enabled with appropriate scripting and automation. You are capable of independently owning and solving day to day IT help desk troubleshooting, onboarding and offboarding logistics. You can understand the “why” in order to connect dependencies to the “bigger picture” and Anchorage mission and product roadmap.

Technical Skills:


  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize areas for automation, streamlining manual workflows through code.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy automated solutions for self-service IT and other business-critical functions.
  • Ensure seamless integration with existing systems and infrastructure.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of implemented solutions.

Complexity and Impact of Work:


  • Find the right balance between progress (i.e. shipping quickly) and perfection (i.e. measuring twice).
  • Foster an efficient deterministic testing culture, with an emphasis on minimizing tech debt and bureaucracy.
  • Ship code that will impact the whole organization.

Organizational Knowledge:


  • Influence architecture/product roadmap - have a seat at the table.
  • Help scale the team.

Communication and Influence


  • Work closely with stakeholders across departments, including Security, People, and Business Teams.
  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues to drive collaboration and innovation.

  • Have coding skills in a language such as Golang.
  • Have played a part in cross-functional projects and have experience collaborating with your team, and adjacent teams to solve problems.
  • Have excellent soft skills, including, the ability to adapt communication for both internal and external stakeholders in an effective manner, bridging gaps with empathy and proactive communication.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:


  • You have familiarity with any of the following topics:
  • Infrastructure-as-code; terraform
  • Google Cloud Platform & Google Workspace
  • Netsuite and Salesforce
