Summary:The Accounting Assistant is responsible for customer service and administrative duties including new vendor creation and ensuring all supplier setup information is received. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for properly recording and allocating payments received both in the office and company lockbox. This position also helps with Accounts Receivable collections. Key Responsibilities of the role include:
Monitor the Accounts Payable and invoicing inboxes.
Experience with Purchase Order or month end reconciliations
Resolve and respond to inquiries / issues.
Open and manage mail with confidential information.
Record and allocate payments received.
Create and maintain accurate vendor records.
Assist with providing documentation for audits.
Perform annual vendor validation - SAM’s (System for Award Management) .
Customer Accounts Receivable Collections.
Active communication with vendors, internal and external customers via phone, email and instant messaging.
Supporting other Finance team members.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of related experience
Demonstrated customer service experience
Excellent follow through skills
Responding to emails in a timely manner
Strong attention to detail
Ability to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
MS Office Suite with Intermediate Excel skills
Ability to work one day a week in the Ann Arbor, Michigan office
Familiarity with NetSuite ERP or ability to learn

The salary range for this position is $46,000 - $55,000 (B-2)
