SUMMARY:
The Director of Industrial Design will play a key role in driving the design direction for Klipsch products, ensuring they reflect the brand’s legacy of craftsmanship, premium performance, and modern aesthetics. This role will be responsible for managing the design process in collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), ensuring that design integrity is maintained throughout product development. The ideal candidate will combine creative vision with strong technical knowledge of product development and manufacturing processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design Leadership: Define and execute the industrial design strategy for Klipsch products, aligned with brand objectives, market trends, and customer needs.
- ODM Management: Work directly with ODMs to guide the design process, ensuring that all design specifications, materials, and production standards meet Klipsch’s premium quality expectations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and marketing teams to integrate design seamlessly from concept through production.
- Trend Analysis: Stay up to date on global design trends, technology innovations, and new materials to enhance the competitive edge and visual appeal of Klipsch products.
- Product Development: Oversee the entire design lifecycle, from initial sketches and 3D modeling to prototyping, testing, and final product refinement.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure that all product designs reflect Klipsch’s heritage and brand values, delivering iconic, high-performance products.
- Sustainability: Incorporate environmentally responsible design practices and materials into product development when possible.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in industrial design, preferably in the consumer electronics or audio industry.
- Experience working with ODMs and managing the design process from concept to production.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, KeyShot).
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional relationships.
- Passion for premium audio and innovative product design.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience working with ODMs in the consumer electronics space.
- Deep understanding of Klipsch’s product lines and brand legacy.
- Knowledge of sustainable design and manufacturing practices.
