About the Role:


As a member of the Payment Operations team, you will report directly to the Director of Underwriting and Fraud to underwrite and onboard quality Software as a Service (SaaS) Companies, Marketplaces and merchants. This role will also be responsible for transaction monitoring and keeping bad actors at bay.

You Will:


  • Review onboarding materials for various business types in accordance with the Finix Underwriting Policy and Procedures aligned to law, regulations, Sponsor Bank, Card Network and NACHA guidelines. 
  • Work with client or customer delivery to resolve any KYB / KYC / OFAC issues by obtaining documentation or proof that clears the flags. Evaluate the business for risk and determine the level of reserves, if any, required.
  • Review live transactions and spikes in behavior to detect and close down fraudulent behavior
  • Review transaction monitoring reports daily, looking for questionable transactions and trends that require further research. 
  • Manage client transaction limits and velocity thresholds and suspicious activity triggers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to execute on the long-term strategy with members of the Sales, Implementation, Legal, Compliance, and Payment Operations teams.

You Have:


  • 2+ years of experience in a Risk analyst role
  • Direct experience underwriting merchants in the payments industry as a payment processor or PayFac.
  • Experience with high-risk verticals is a plus, but not required.
  • Extensive fraud prevention skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong emphasis on the development of frameworks and processes that can be scaled and/or automated.
  • Tenacity and a willingness to achieve goals and make deadlines.
  • Strong sense of integrity with an ability to work within fuzzy or ambiguous boundaries.
