About Middesk

Our goal is to make it easier for businesses to work together. Since 2018, we have been a leading disruptor in the business identity market. While consumer identity technology has seen significant modernization and digitization over the past decade, business identity and verification largely continues to be a manual process, specifically in the context of onboarding businesses to receive access to financial products and services. Our best-in-class business identity platform provides access to complete, up-to-date information that financial services institutions and fintechs need to make educated decisions about their customers and facilitate rapid onboarding and transacting.

Our vision is that every company can instantly gain access to all the data, products, and services they need to establish and grow their business with ease. Middesk came out of Y Combinator, is backed by Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners, and was recently named to Forbes Fintech 50 List and cited as an industry leader in business verification by digital identity strategy firm, Liminal.

The Role

Middesk’s People Ops Manager will work across the company to create an exceptional employee experience, while taking our foundation of people programs to the next level. You’ll flex between the details and the dialogue, balancing responsibilities while ensuring there is a high-touch human approach to the work you do. You are approachable and trusted - knowing when to listen, when to act, and when confidentiality or privacy are the top priority. You epitomize our values and champion the business and team while navigating diverse scenarios, competing priorities, unexpected challenges and changes with good judgment and an open mind.

What you'll do:

  • Earn trust via your expertise as you advance goals, elevate and evolve our People Ops programs,  advise team members, and troubleshoot operational and team issues

  • Balance best practices and compliance while demonstrating adaptability, empathy and the ability to increase relevance of key People Ops processes and activities

  • Demonstrate people management skills–managing our People Operations Coordinator and coaching, influencing, and developing our managers’ skills and capabilities in their roles

  • Partner to develop and drive the People Ops roadmap and business objectives

  • Build and oversee scalable frameworks and processes to support people operations, performance management, learning & development, employee engagement, and total rewards

  • Evaluate and optimize existing HR systems and technology, including working with our PEO, Rippling, leveraging Lattice for reviews, feedback and employee development, and supporting other integrations for our recruiting, benefits administration and rewards programs

  • Leverage metrics and data to inform and measure success and influence change across People Ops programs

What we’re looking for:

  • You’ve worked as a People Ops Manager or HRBP in a high-growth startup and are looking for a place where you can continue to excel and grow your People Ops career

  • You have experience managing complex projects from start to finish with cross-functional partners and look at each cycle as an opportunity to evolve and improve the outcomes for the business and team

  • You bring creativity and a willingness to challenge conventional thinking about what a people ops function looks like in 2024 and beyond

  • You have experience tracking and presenting people ops metrics and leveraging these insights to design, manage, and facilitate an exceptional employee experience

  • You have exceptional organizational skills, with a keen eye for the details and a commitment for accurate, timely and effective execution of top priority activities

  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the drive to take ownership for the development and cultivation of strong relationships

Life at Middesk

Middesk (YC W19) offers business verifications, legal and regulatory checks, and industry classification products for companies selling to businesses. Where trust between businesses used to rely on a handshake, building trust between companies today requires a new suite of tools that deliver complete and reliable data at scale. Middesk aims to redefine how businesses build trusted relationships. Today, there are no reliable and scalable solutions for understanding the legitimacy, trustworthiness, or credit capacity of a business. We're building the end-to-end solution for companies to verify, screen, and monitor their customers. To do this, we're looking for individuals who think about problems holistically and in-depth, who are relentlessly curious, self-starters, and determined to drive ideas from inception through to completion. Middesk is a Y Combinator company and is backed by the top VCs in the world including Accel and Sequoia Capital.
