Director of Sales, Military Housing - Fiber to the Home
The opportunity for broadband in the military housing space is huge. Boingo is one of the best-positioned players in the space. With our 20 plus-year track record of providing amazing wireless service on 91 DOD Bases and venues from LAX to The World Trade Center in NY, we have the team to support your success in this role. You’ll take ownership of driving sales opportunities in the space. As the Director you’ll lead the pursuit and execution of the business unit’s sales strategy to gain Fiber to the Home deals with the private companies that own base housing.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have existing corporate contacts with the top 10 private companies that own base housing, including Hunt Properties, Balfour Beaty, Liberty Military Housing, Landlease Corvias, Mayroad, Patrician Management to name a few. You’ll also have an established reputation within the military housing space.
- Understand and have relationships with the consulting community that supports these private military housing.
- Strategically sell Boingo’s suite of services at various levels within the family housing ecosystem including VP, SVP, and C-Level.
- Have a deep understanding of the wireless ecosystem driving the development of large-scale partnership opportunities with military family housing.
- Previous sales responsibility with quotas or goals greater than $10M
- Negotiate, structure, and sign revenue-generating contracts in excess of $3M.
- Work cross-functionally with Finance, Product, Engineering and Operations to drive business opportunities to closure.
- Market the Boingo brand and expand existing product suite within military housing via professional contacts, industry conferences, educational, and networking events.
Expectations:
- Create sales plan to determine business, financial and strategic viability of focused opportunities within the first 60 days.
- Implement sales plan to ensure business objectives are met, sales forecasting and pipeline management are in place within the first 90 days.
- Establish presence in the military housing community as key Boingo executive responsible for pipeline growth through in person meetings with key customers within each customer target in the first 180 days.
- Execute business plan with expectation of 20%+ growth annually with immediate impact on current year goals.
Requirements:
- 5-7+ years of business development, consulting in the Military Family housing space with proven record for signing large deals
- Proven track record of closing large deals (>$3M) and regularly meeting or exceeding quota.
- Experience managing and forecasting a pipeline to exceed annual quotas.
- Successful track record of negotiating and executing contracts by leveraging cross-functional resources.
- Strong understanding of wireless ecosystem and Wi-Fi, and FTTH
- Successful experience working independently in a fast paced and dynamic culture.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time based on standard 40-hour work week.
