Overview
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management within designated business units. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on human resources-related issues, acting as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, communicates proactively with HR and business management, and seeks to develop integrated solutions.
What you'll do:
Strategic Partnership:
- Partner with business leaders to provide HR expertise in the areas of workforce planning, talent management, organizational development, and employee relations.
- Understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity, and development of HR within the company.
- Act as a trusted advisor and coach to senior leaders, helping them navigate complex HR challenges and providing strategic guidance on people-related matters.
Talent Management:
- Lead the talent management process, including performance reviews, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Support recruitment efforts by collaborating with hiring managers to define roles, identify key competencies, and select candidates that align with the business strategy.
- Develop and implement strategies to retain key talent, reduce turnover, and foster a high-performance culture.
Employee Relations:
- Provide expert advice and support to managers and employees on all employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and issues, ensuring that they are resolved in a fair and consistent manner.
- Promote a positive work environment by implementing employee engagement initiatives and addressing workplace concerns.
Change Management:
- Support organizational change initiatives, ensuring that HR considerations are addressed and that employees are supported throughout transitions.
- Develop and implement change management strategies that support business objectives and minimize disruption to the workforce.
- Facilitate communication and training related to change initiatives, ensuring that employees understand the rationale behind changes and are equipped to adapt.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Monitor and assess HR-related risks and work with management to develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures to reflect changes in legislation and best practices.
HR Metrics and Reporting:
- Analyze HR data and metrics to provide insights and recommendations to business leaders.
- Monitor key HR metrics, such as turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and diversity metrics, and develop strategies to address areas of concern.
- Prepare and present reports on HR activities, outcomes, and trends to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in a human resources role, with at least 3 years in an HR Business Partner or similar role.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations. Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Other Requirements: Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in talent management, organizational development, and employee relations.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, compliance regulations, and best HR practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong understanding of business acumen.
- Experience as an HRBP on a global scale, supporting locations such as the US, Canada, and Colombia preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must.
