FS Investments is looking for an experienced Investor Relations professional to support its Global Credit business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investor relations, particularly within the alternative investments and credit sectors. The Director will integrate directly into the Global Credit business and serve as a public-facing extension of the Portfolio Managers. The Director will become the primary point of contact for investors, institutions, and other key stakeholders. The candidate is expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Global Credit business and the related markets to represent the business effectively.
The Director will be responsible for sourcing new relationships, monitoring and improving investor sentiment/receptivity, crafting earnings presentations, positioning the platform, and working cross-functionally across the firm and sales organization. The Director will become a knowledge expert on the asset classes, funds, and shareholders, by developing an ongoing understanding of the macro, market, industry, and regulatory climates, business objectives, merits/value propositions of various investments and strategies, and target investors/participants, as well as by grasping other key aspects of the Global Credit business.This role requires an initiative-taker with strong intuition, analytical and organizational capabilities, and who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves.
This person must have a business mindset and help drive solutions to day-to-day issues and larger challenges.
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Gain a deep and comprehensive understanding of the Global Credit business to serve as the public-facing extension of the Portfolio Managers.
- Function as a primary point of contact for investors, responding to inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective investors, cultivating trust and confidence in the firm's investment strategies and performance.
- Proactively look for and execute upon business development opportunities to enhance the Global Credit business’ brand and market presence.
- Lead investor meetings, calls, and presentations, ensuring all materials are prepared accurately and delivered on time.
- Prepare and distribute regular communications to investors, including quarterly reports, performance updates, and market insights.
- Represent the Global Credit business at key industry events including conferences, research forums and other investor and industry events.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and investor feedback and sentiment, providing insights to senior management to enhance investor relations strategies.
- Collaborate with the marketing and investment teams to develop compelling investor materials and presentations that effectively communicate FS Global Credit’s investment strategies, fund performance, and financial results.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in investor relations, preferably in the alternative investments space, although experience across other asset classes is also valuable.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or other business related major is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, credit-focused investment products, portfolio management, and accounting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, financial advisors, research analysts, and other key industry stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts, market trends, and fund performance clearly and effectively.
- Entrepreneurial oriented with a bias toward action and engagement.
