PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


ATR is seeking an experienced -Mechanical Technician to join the Automation Division, working with a team of engineers at the Headquarters in Beltsville, Maryland. The successful candidate will have general knowledge of electrical and mechanical assemblies and possess basic knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits. Other duties include, but not limited to:

  • Assemble, install, troubleshoot, and repair computer-controlled mechanical systems, such as robotic systems and material handling machines

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


  • 5-10 Years experience with mechanical equipment
  • Troubleshooting PLC Controls experience
  • Specialized technical training a plus

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:


  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of the mechanical components
  • Ability to verify dimensions of parts using measuring instruments to ensure that specifications are met
  • Basic proficiency metalworking machines and welding equipment
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems 
  • Proficient manual dexterity to assemble a wide variety of electro-mechanic equipment using hand tools and specialized equipment
  • Ability to develop and follow mechanical assembly and test procedures in a timely manner
  • Effective writing skills to document procedures and test results
