Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of interactive technology? We are looking for a Creative Technician to join the team! As a Creative Technician with Aardvark Studios you’ll be responsible for independent prototyping, documentation, basic programming and wiring for high quality and bespoke exhibits. The Aardvark tech team is at the forefront of creating immersive, experiential builds that captivate and inspire. You’ll be joining a team of artists, engineers and technicians who are pushing the boundaries of interactive experiences.
Our technology is integrated in house as we work in collaboration with our fabrication team and designers.
QUALIFICATIONS
What makes you the ideal candidate:
- Experience in escape rooms, haunted houses, museum exhibit builds, or technical interactives.
- Experience with custom hardware and software.
- Strong working knowledge in electronic, electrical systems and wiring.
- Experience with LED lighting and stage lighting. Preferred
- Experience with Audio systems and Audio visual equipment installations. Preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience or advanced training/education in related fields.
- Proficiency in reading floor plans, detailed construction drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Soldering capabilities
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to travel to installations
What you’ll do:
- Independently prototype new exhibit systems and devices.
- Develop and maintain full documentation for assigned exhibitions.
- Install exhibit systems, structures, and devices into final exhibition cabinets and structures.
- Carry out basic programming tasks for PLC, microprocessor, and specialized control systems. A plus but not required.
- Assist in exhibit planning, designing and procurement sourcing
- Provides hands-on assistance for basic fabrication tasks.
- To assist in the assembly, wiring, and maintenance of interactive exhibits.
- Quick problem solving and troubleshooting abilities

- Technical Skill: Demonstrated expertise in electrical wiring leading to high-quality, reliable installations and repairs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, and modifications.
- Efficiency & Productivity: Ability to complete projects on time while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communication: Clear and concise communication with team members and management, ensuring that all electrical projects are understood and executed efficiently.
Compensation:
$60k - $80k, commensurate with experience
