We are introducing this role to be pivotal in maturing our approach to winning work within the Public Sector. This will include building and maintaining strong relationships within the Public Sector, writing bids and understanding their problems and needs and help us mature our proposition. Mindera is a reasonably flat organisation with very little hierarchy. We encourage self organisation and our people tend to reject fixed job titles. You can read more about our ways of working in our handbook.The role would be hybrid and flexible in terms of work location, with some face-to-face time with prospects and existing clients (mostly across the UK) would be needed.

We have an office in Leicester and London to connect with colleagues and host external guests. This is an initial six month contract.

What you will be doing


  • Create a strategy for Public Sector business development in collaboration with peers.
  • Identifying, developing and closing large and complex new business opportunities.
  • Working with peers to agree what opportunities we progress with so we are set up for success to deliver on them.
  • Write bids, pitch for opportunities through the RFI & RFP process.
  • Help organise and host networking events, primarily in our London office.
  • Support marketing activities to build our profile.
  • Create and develop Statements of Work.
  • Ensure we deliver on our promises.
  • Help educate the wider business on good approaches to business development within the Public Sector that avoid the negative stereotypes associated with sales.

Requirements


  • Proven experience of working with (or within) the Public Sector with a skill set aligned to identifying, developing and closing large and complex new business opportunities within an existing or new customer.

  • Solid experience of establishing and growing relationships with key stakeholders and senior decision makers.

  • Strong Business Development and Commercial knowledge and expertise with a proven track record to define and shape commercial outcomes.

  • Strong experience and solid capability of leading and managing highly engaged cross functional customer focussed teams to pursue larger new business opportunities.

  • Experience of tendering processes, bid writing and managing negotiations and closing contract agreements.Several years working within the Public Sector.

  • Clear, proactive, honest communication and the ability to simplify topics.
  • Work both autonomously and collaboratively to complete tasks.
  • Experience driving positive changes in process in an organisation.
  • The ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • An existing network within the eCommerce, retail or fashion space.
  • A low ego.

Specific working and connections in one or more of the following areas:


  • Central government department.
  • Larger councils, typically county and unitary city (Metropolitan) councils.
  • Large non-departmental bodies, particularly with links to local government.
  • The health service.
