DESIGN has collaborated with a hydrogen production and fuel cell technology company seeking an experienced
Electronics Technician to join their facility in Bend, OR. This company provides services which can accelerate fuel cell producer’s commercialization efforts, thereby speeding their entry into the marketplace.

- $70,000 - $85,000 annually/DOE
Primary Function:
The Electronics Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing PCBAs, test stands, H2PT products, and electrical components. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in troubleshooting, the ability to read and create electrical schematics, a strong understanding of electric circuits, and the skills to design and assemble wire harnesses.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and repair of failed PCBAs, test stands and electrical components
- Creates and maintains electrical schematics of H2PT products and test stands
- Wiring product assemblies
- Maintaining Altium parts database
Education and Experience:
(Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
- 5-10 years of experience as an electronics/electrical technician required
- Requires an electronics/electrical technology degree
- Understands hazards of and can work safely when working with high power battery systems and line voltages of 220VAC
- Work well as a team player
- Understanding of Fuel Cell Technology
- Experience with Altium Software; symbol creation and schematic capture as well as footprint creation
- Support offshore manufacturing facilities when production issues arise – possible travel or off hour business calls
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair PCBAs to the component level
- Skilled at soldering fine pitch components (20 mil), resistor and capacitors down to 0402 in size
- Ability to design and build wire harnesses
- Travel within the US and foreign countries a few times per year with overnight stays up to 14 days during an international trip
- Lifting up to 50 lbs, manual dexterity, visual acuity, ‘hands on’ person
- Ability to pass drug test, including THC, upon acceptance of an offer
Work Environment:
Standard lab/production environment. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
