Position Summary:


The Senior Manager of Field Incentive Compensation & Alignment is the subject matter expert for managing the field incentive compensation plans, contests, and awards, ensuring that they are fiscally responsible, aligned with company and product specific goals and objectives, administered in a consistent, accurate and compliant fashion that serves to attract, retain and motivate top field talent for multiple teams. In addition, the position will provide proactive analyses of programs and recommend solutions to ensure they are competitive, consistent, and compliant with all applicable regulations.

The role will also be responsible for managing the field alignments to ensure that the field force is optimally deployed, and alignments are administered to downstream systems and processes. Responsibilities:


  • Lead and administer the field deployment, sizing, territory and HCP alignment efforts by partnering with sales and account management leadership to ensure that our field teams are optimally deployed to achieve our commercial objectives. 

  • Lead and administer the field incentive compensation, contest/award functional area for the US field teams that is motivating, rewarding, and aligns with business objectives by collaborating with internal stakeholder and vendors:

  • Lead the evaluation, development, design and administer IC Plans, contests, and annual awards for 3+ field teams, national account group, along with their field management teams.

  • Implement strategies and the administrative processes to ensure accurate performance and bonus/contest payout calculations.

  • Ensure timely communication and documentation to the field teams around IC/contest/award plans, performance status reports(dashboards), and the administration processes.

  • Collaborate with the Commercial Systems and analysis group to ensure efficient integration between IC Platforms and the rest of the commercial data systems to provide accurate, efficient, and reliable data exchange used for incentive compensation calculations, including eligibility requirements from roster.

  • Ensure timely and accurate IC reporting and payout processes following compliant guidelines.

  • Evaluating plans and contests before/during/after implementation and analyzing adoption, lift, and overall performance to be shared with leadership, bringing insights and recommendations based on data.

  • Manage field roster to ensure accuracy and timely deliverables for Sales Ops systems.

Education/Experience Requirements: 



  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, data science, or other related fields required. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.

  • Minimum of 7+ years of combined relevant work experience in the Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry focused on incentive compensation, commercial/sales operations, sales analytics, or sales force effectiveness.

  • Prior experience in field-based incentive compensation plan development and/or administration.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, vendor management, and cross divisional collaboration.

  • Well organized with a successful record of creating and managing complex project plans, timelines, and critical paths. Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting strategies, tactics, or responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional teamwork environment.

  • Highly proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Veeva a plus.

  • Knowledge of commercial data warehouse concepts, industry physician/patient/payer level data, and Tableau reporting tools and/or similar analytics reporting platforms.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Demonstrated on-stage presence and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts and ideas to leadership and the sales force in an easy to understand and relatable terms.

  • Strong sense of customer service and care towards internal stakeholders.

  • Understanding of regulatory, legal and promotional compliance requirements for pharmaceutical sales/marketing companies.

  • Ability to travel 10% to 25% domestic and internationally.  In addition, if remote based, the ability to travel to the home office in San Diego, CA at least four times per calendar quarter for a duration of at least 3 full days in the office during each trip.

  • All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues, and as such, Travere will require proof of positive vaccination status to perform onsite, face to face work to become employed.

Target Base Pay Range:$120,000.00 - $165,000.00
