Responsibilities:
- Ensure contract compliance for contractors performing construction on the Owner's electric transmission system.
- Ensure work is completed safely and to design specifications.
- Oversee a variety of projects from simple upgrades on substations to the construction of new substations.
- Identify and assist in resolving issues that could compromise project success (e.g. design issues, material issues, contractor performance issues, access issues, customer issues).
- Responsible for performing construction management duties and assignments with guidance from higher level employees. Projects will be limited in scope and associated with the construction of Transmission Line or Transmission/Distribution Station facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed below:
Provide construction site management for station or line transmission construction projects to ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local & Company standards, programs, drawings and specifications. Prepares progress reports on the construction phase, revise field drawings to agree with as-built installations, provide quality performance feedback on contractors, material and equipment and other documentation as necessary.
- Provide construction site management for many aspects and activities of station or line transmission construction to facilitate project completion within budget, schedule and scope.
- Coordinate required outages with the responsible operations center and arrange for or accept clearances as required.
- Maintain construction oversight for OSHA compliance requirements in accordance with the company's construction compliance oversight program.
- Provide limited technical guidance for company/contractor personnel regarding construction of station or line transmission facilities.
- Assist with the conducting of tests on construction materials and equipment as required.
- Provide estimates to allow authorization of station or line transmission construction work by contract forces, including verification of work performed and approval of contractor invoices.
- Inspect and check the receipt of materials for construction projects for shortages, timeliness, damages, and correctness. Prepare reports and take appropriate corrective action. Coordinate delivery of material with other groups and vendors.
- Work with project manager/lead as well as others within and outside the Company to coordinate some of the necessary resources for assigned projects.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management Science with emphasis on project/construction management or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Technology OR Associate's Degree in Construction Management Technology field with 2 years’ work experience in project/construction management OR Associate's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering Technology with 2 years’ work experience in transmission line or station work OR high school graduate or GED with 5 years related experience in electric utility transmission line or station construction or project management/oversight. Experience working in the Utility industry is a plus. Leadership or compliance management experience is also a plus. Proficiency in using computers and Microsoft Office products. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with remote teams.
