JOB TITLE:
Project Control Specialist
LOCATION: Illinois, Tennessee, New Jersey
SUMMARY
The Project Control Specialist will partner with project management to develop, monitor, and update project estimates and/or schedules so that projects may be executed in the most efficient manner possible.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review of client provided project descriptions to assess scope of work
- Apply methodologies, techniques and tools, software, standards and guidelines for estimating and/or planning/scheduling
- Support estimating/scheduling efforts for the development of the project plan
- Provide analysis of project estimates and/or schedules, including, as applicable, CPM software implementation, time impact and delay analysis, and review of periodic updates
- Develop baseline and detailed schedules inclusive of major milestones, detailed WBS, assignment of costs, labor, and equipment to activities, resource leveling, etc.
- Prepare and provide progress reports and forecasts of significant project activities. Analyze the effects to critical path activities; identify changes to the project that affect the schedule and develops the recovery schedules and alternate courses of action
- Participate in continuous improvement of the estimating/scheduling organization through benchmarking and maintaining affiliations with industry estimating/scheduling organizations and local/national chapters
- Monitor project productivity, quality, and progress
- Monitor and resolve technical issues in a timely and effective manner
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, Business Administration or a related field
- With 5+ years of job-relevant experience
- Associate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, Math, or related field
- With 7+ years of job-relevant experience.
- High School or GED
- With 9+ years of job-relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience scheduling and/or estimating on Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) projects preferred.
- Knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures
- Demonstrated attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with P6 primavera
- Willingness to travel and/or visit project sites
Other valued qualifications include:
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to work independently with general supervision and as part of a larger design team
- Experience with managing small teams or projects
