Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Professionally manage/supervise all incidents, preparing daily status reports, delegating resources, resolving conflict, leveraging support systems as needed. 
  • Use data to track/trend and make data driven decisions
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Conduct daily Tier meetings with all necessary data and forward-looking planning
  • Document investigations of process deviations, variances, and accidents. 
  • Interaction with various support groups in and outside of Phlow Petersburg.
  • Address technical problems related to chemical processes. 
  • Work with outside emergency responders and other service providers as needed. 
  • 8–12-hour shifts will be expected with night, weekend, and holiday coverage. 
  • Keeping management informed of all activities will be required.

Experience & Qualifications


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must be able to work in chemical manufacturing plant both large and small scale.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite and standard office equipment. 
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts 
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools
  • Experience with potent compounds 
  • Experience with change management 

Education & Certifications


  • Typically requires 3-5 years of experience in the related area as an individual contributor and bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 
  • Prefer a bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or BS in other science field. 
  • Preferred previous supervisory experience. 

Physical Requirements


  • A combination of working in the plant facilities and in an office setting 
  • 12-hour shifts, including either day shift or grave shift 
  • Ability to wear proper PPE including full face respirators for short periods of time 
  • Constantly required to see to utilize computer screens and monitors to perform job duties including reading & writing, as well as when presenting information and communicating with others.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear to communicate with employees, candidates, vendors, and others, including presenting information in front of groups.
  • May require gowning in required PPE to assist operators in completing tasks.
  • A mix of both office duties and being on the floor.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
