Logistics coordinator Job Summary
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Coordinator to oversee and optimize our logistics operations. The Logistics Coordinator will play a critical role in coordinating and managing the efficient movement of goods, ensuring timely delivery, and optimizing costs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of supply chain and logistics processes.Logistics Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment
- Work with transportation providers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
- Process all freight claims within our carrier network
- Manage paperwork for import and export shipments
- Familiar with HTS international codes
- Prepare bills and invoices
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Monitor on-time delivery, order accuracy, inventory turnover, and other relevant metrics to ensure operational excellence
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the logistics operations to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Assist warehouse operations personnel with fulfillment of orders and loading of trucks
- Implement best practices and industry standards to continuously improve logistics processes and procedures
Logistics Coordinator Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus
- Hazmat certified for shipping of products with lithium-ion batteries
- Strong knowledge of logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
- Proficiency in using logistics software and NetSuite inventory management software
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimize operations and address challenges effectively
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to logistics and supply chain management especially related to China/Asia
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in operations
- A proactive approach with a demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
