Your Impact
We’re looking for an Events Lead who will be the face of our Localhost events, representing our brand to Localhost customers, event participants and spectators. You will contribute to the creation and execution of events and ensure that our guests have an exceptional experience from start to finish. You will develop the skills to mentor and train staff on building community and executing flawless events featuring a wide variety of games.
What It Entails
- Building relationships with customers and assisting customers in connecting with events and communities that may be of interest to them
- Working alongside the programming team to design and build, and run local events and tournaments by:
- building relationships with local gaming communities, youth organizations, etc
- building community with Localhost as its hub, bringing existing communities to location.
- executing national programming and youth programming events
- Coordinating all Nerd Street events within Localhost
- Working with the Venue Leadership & Marketing team to create and execute in-venue promotion ideas
- Becoming the point person responsible for training part-time staff to execute events and mentor part time staff to create their own events.
- Developing knowledge of all Nerd Street Systems and Processes
- Developing and utilizing knowledge of PCs and equipment and working with IT to keep equipment updated for events
- Working alongside the Head of Venues and events on operational venue needs:
- utilizing point of sale system(s), handling of all cash and credit card transactions and following proper procedures
- working with the Head of Venues to execute and support customer events
- Ideating, coordinating and executing social media content and deliverables during live events on behalf of the marketing team.
- Assisting with other needs as they arise which may include:
- Providing coverage to assist the Localhost Operations Lead.
- Attending off-site events to promote Localhost/Nerd Street and working alongside the marketing team depending on the venue’s needs.
- Confirming successful event execution, venue preparation and otherwise conducting quality assurance reviews of products and services.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have transportation to events occurring off-site and other community events.
- Must have a high school diploma.
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must have flexibility in working hours, as event start times and schedules vary.
- Must be someone who thinks quickly on their toes, who takes a proactive approach to handling issues and is comfortable troubleshooting problems
Bonus Points If...
- You have event planning or event execution experience
- You have earned a bachelors or associates degree
