The Investment Strategist promotes consistent, unified investment communication across advisor teams by establishing and effectively presenting the firm’s investment strategy and offerings to advisors and clients. Based at National Office and supports branch offices around the country. Principal Accountabilities:1. Contributes to Investment Strategy Group’s (ISG's) investment research, manager research and selection, investment strategy, asset allocation, and portfolio construction.2. Aids advisors in diagnosing and aligning clients’ (individual and institutional) investment needs and expectations with their portfolios.3.
Serves as a Subject Matter Expert on all investment matters.4. Effectively speaks to the following topics:
- Company investment philosophy (Principles-Based Investing), investment process, and investment offering
- Client expectations/tradeoffs
- Oversight and governance of company’s investment offerings
- Underlying mutual funds/ETFs
- Active, passive, private equity, private credit, and multi-factor investing
- General economic and market conditions
5. Ability to comfortably communicate clearly to clients and advisors through a variety of mediums, including written commentaries, speaking engagements, podcasts, and individual client meetings.6. Meets regularly to build strong relationships with advisors, and clients when needed.7. Approaches work, interactions, and relationships in a manner consistent with the Company’s Core Values.8. Maintains the highest Compliance standards by adhering to the Company’s Human Resources guidelines, Compliance policies and procedures, professional designation standards, and industry's regulatory standards to mitigate risk to the company.9.
Actively seeks to integrate the financial planning philosophy and biblical principles upon which Blue Trust seeks to serve its clients in providing financial planning and investment management services.10. Builds investment department capacity by working collaboratively and seeking to have the greatest impact across the most clients and advisors.Requirements
- Deep knowledge of investment landscape
- Deep understanding of and alignment with our proprietary investment philosophy, Principles-Based Investing (theoretically and practically)
- Understands the financial planning philosophy and biblical basis upon which Blue Trust serves its client base and applies these principles in personal finances
- Insight into behavioral factors that may impact clients
- High conviction and ability to articulate Company’s investment solutions
- Ability to foster strong working relationship with investment team and Advisors
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to discreetly handle confidential data
- Ability to make independent judgments as well as take direction from others
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to organize and express thoughts clearly and concisely

- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Education, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or economics is highly preferred.
- A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years’ prior investment management and/or investment communication experience in a professional environment is required.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:
- The ideal candidate will have obtained or be in the process of earning the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
