Who are we looking for?


Reporting to our Head of Engineering, we are looking for a Tech Lead Manager to build and lead a group of engineers on our Integrations team. This team oversees the core business function of building and maintaining code that interacts with thousands of different platforms, merchants, and payroll providers. You’ll be in the code every day while also helping to develop the systems and people around you.

What will you do?


  • Overcome technical challenges. Build and maintain integrations that require deep technical understanding of APIs, authentication, and web security.
  • Monitor and maintain integrations at scale. 
  • Prioritize work to maximize the impact your team can have.
  • Build a powerhouse team through coaching, career development, and hiring.
  • Represent your team in planning and leadership meetings.
  • Help us to enhance our great engineering culture.

What qualifications are necessary?


  • 1+ years as a tech lead or engineering manager
  • 3+ years as a software engineer
  • Proficient in writing backend code in python or similar server-side programming language
  • Strong communication skills that can be used up, down, and across the org
  • Team player attitude - we are building this together!
  • Willing to work onsite at NYC headquarters 3 days a week

At Pinwheel, total compensation is made up of salary + equity + benefits. We recruit motivated and high performing talent, and work to compensate people in line with the value they can bring to the organization in delivering outsized results. When creating an offer, we consider interview performance, candidate experience, external market competitiveness, and internal equity in thoughtfully assessing compensation.

The expected salary range for this role is $160,000 to $220,000 base.
