Job Summary:
The Content Specialist Meteorologist will be an essential component of our marketing team. Our small, collaborative, in-house group is focused on delivering a solid ROI on marketing efforts in a fast-paced environment. You will be a key team member and work with development and sales teams to ensure that content is scientifically accurate, engaging, and accessible to our target audience. A successful candidate will produce high-quality, persuasive materials to support product marketing, company brand messaging, and sales initiatives covering all Baron software products, radar, and weather data across a multitude of industries.
This position will directly involve producing web copy, brochures, press releases, blog articles, and building social calendars. The successful candidate must possess strong writing skills, strategic thinking, and a solid understanding of communication. Experience in meteorology and a passion for translating complex weather data into clear, actionable information for a general audience is required.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop, write, and edit weather-related content for blogs, websites, social media, email campaigns, and other digital platforms and/or printed material that support the needs of Baron strategies.-Develop new content ideas and projects.-Write engaging, persuasive, benefit-oriented copy for sales emails and product brochures.-Provide meteorological insights to ensure content accuracy, particularly for writing about weather integration for B2B customers, Radar science, and climate-related topics.-Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, design, product) to align content with brand voice, audience needs, and company goals.-Analyze weather data, trends, and models to create compelling and informative content that helps readers understand the features, value, and benefits of Baron technology.-Stay updated on the latest meteorological research and technology to inform content creation.-Optimize content for SEO to increase visibility and drive organic traffic.-Manage an annual social and blog content calendar. -Edit and proofread content for clarity, grammar, and adherence to scientific accuracy, incorporating the correct tone, brand, and strategic messages. -Monitor content performance and adjust strategies based on data and user engagement insights.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.-5-8 Years of experience-Proven experience as a meteorologist, with a solid ability to communicate weather concepts to a non-technical audience.-Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with experience creating weather-related content.-Experience with weather graphics tools, specifically Baron Lynx, GIS products, or others, a plus.-Familiarity with SEO best practices to ensure content is optimized for search engines.-Experience working with content management systems (CMS) preferably HubSpot or WordPress.-Ability to analyze weather data and trends to create informative, engaging content.-Strong organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple projects, work at a fast pace, and meet overlapping deadlines.-Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush).
