Your Impact
We're looking for an Operations Lead to help shape and execute the daily business at Localhost, ensuring that our guests have an exceptional experience from start to finish. You will be the glue for our operations, leading the team on-site to create a welcoming atmosphere for all who engage with us.
What It Entails
- Building relationships with customers and assisting customers in connecting with events and communities that may be of interest to them
- Supporting the Head of Venues in managing the day-to-day operational needs of the Localhost venue including:
- Process management, develop knowledge of, and be able to follow, Nerd Street Systems and Processes
- Inventory management, maintain relationship with vendors and place orders for items sold in store.
- Equipment management, knowledge of the PCs and equipment used within the venue
- Venue management, oversee and assist with venue upkeep and cleanliness, oversee staff in completing venue maintenance checklists
- Point of sale process management, utilizing point of sale system(s), handling of all cash and credit card transactions and following proper procedures, making trips to bank for deposits and change
- In-store scheduling, facilitating coverage requests and communicating with staff regarding scheduling needs
- Response to customer inquiries and concerns
- Maintenance of security protocols
- Facilitating venue rentals and sales by:
- Developing relationships with local businesses
- Attending off-site events to promote Localhost/Nerd Street and working alongside the marketing team depending on the venue’s needs
- Working with leadership to book venue rentals, and event and private party sales
- Manage and respond to customer inquiries coming from walk-ins, calls, emails and customer service platforms
- Managing contracts for venue rentals and event and private party sales
- Working closely with finance, delivering invoices in a timely manner, following-up with clients as needed.
- Working alongside the Localhost Events Lead to facilitate events and tournaments
- Supplementing and supporting event staffing
- Managing venue set up in advance of events
- Working with IT to make sure equipment is ready for upcoming events
- Becoming the point person responsible for training part-time staff to on venue operations needs and mentor part time staff in taking ownership of venue operational needs. Management of part-time staff, assisting with employee inquiries and needs, and addressing performance issues
- Working with the Venue Leadership & Marketing team to create and execute in-venue promotion ideas
- Collaborating with Head of Venues and Events Lead to identify ways to improve venue performance and drive revenue and to implement changes
- Confirming successful event execution, venue preparation and otherwise conducting quality assurance reviews of products and services.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have transportation to bank and sales meetings.
- Must have a high school diploma.
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must have flexibility in working hours, as event start times and schedules vary.
- Must be someone who thinks quickly on their toes, who takes a proactive approach to handling issues and is comfortable troubleshooting problems
