What we need:


An Expert Software Engineer at 31st is no stranger to conquering the technical and tactical challenges that come with delivering a complex project. Our studio is looking for a server/backend focused engineer to contribute on an exciting unannounced project that will thrill millions of players around the world.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop server-side features on our title for cross-platform use.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Independently plan and complete assignments while providing guidance.
  • Exhibit flexibility and leadership in an Agile team environment.
  • Support other software engineers through advice, coaching, mentorship, and helping new team members acclimate to the 31st Union engineering environment.

Required Qualifications:


  • 7+ years of programming experience in server-side development, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, and experience in developing AAA games.
  • Fluent in C++ and proficient in Python, PHP, Perl, or Ruby. 
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, multi-threaded programming, robust engineering practices, and distributed and scalable systems.
  • Experience with SQL databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or other).
  • A collaborative teammate who enjoys coding challenges, encourages input from others, and offers constructive feedback.
  • Passionate about games and adept at solving large-scale problems in the gaming industry.

Relevant Experience:


  • Experience optimizing database connections and queries.
  • Experience with online gaming architecture.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $123,000 and $185,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
