The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and marketing finance, FP&A, coupled with exceptional business acumen.

As a GTM Finance Manager at Mercer, you will act as lead finance business partner and trusted advisor to senior sales and marketing leaders the organization.  You will provide financial insights, analysis, and optimization analysis to support business decision-making and improve business performance.

Essential Job Functions will include:


Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Partner with sales and marketing leaders to develop and execute strategic financial plans aligned with Mercer’s growth goals.
  • Conduct financial, revenue analysis, cost analysis, as well as scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to support decision-making and drive business performance.
  • Support inquiries from private equity sponsors with urgency and accuracy. 

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop key inputs to the annual planning process for sales & marketing functions.
  • Collaborate across business units to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and providing actionable insights.
  • Execute key monthly, quarterly, and yearly finance-related routines for senior sales and marketing leaders. 

Sales & Marketing Optimization:

  • Evaluate sales and marketing performance against key efficiency metrics and corporate growth targets.
  • Identify areas for sales force and marketing spend optimization and recommend strategies to improve efficiency and outputs.
  • Support key internal marketing effectiveness routines with timely financial data and business KPI. 

Business Strategy Support:

  • Provide critical inputs to Mercer’s long range planning model related to marketing spend, CAC, CLV, and other marketing and sales effectiveness measures. 
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to the development of long-term business strategies.
  • Assess investment opportunities, develop business cases, and conduct ROI analysis to support investment decisions and resource allocation.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with various departments, including sales, marketing, operations, and HR, to align financial objectives with business priorities.
  • Serve as a liaison between finance and other functional areas, facilitating communication and collaboration.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or business administration.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance related roles.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • MBA or Masters in Finance (MSF)
  • Experience with Business Partner finance roles.
  • Wealth Management, Finance, or FinTech industry experience.  
  • Understanding of key marketing and client acquisition effectiveness metrics (CAC:CLV)
  • Ability to influence without authority.

Work Schedule: 

This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM. At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs.

Working Conditions:

This position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace which is free of interruptions. Whether position is in a dedicated office space or home office workspace, basic technology needs will be provided to satisfy position requirements. Routinely sitting and standing for periods of time. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs. Travel assumed up to 10% of the time.
