Job Location: Winston Salem, NC and surrounding triad area
Job Summary:
The A/R Accounting Associate is responsible for performing all duties necessary to facilitate the collection of customer account balances, cash application, and working with internal business partners on member account resolution.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly invoices
- Process payments using various methods
- Apply member payments and research any payment discrepancies
- Provide excellent customer service to our members and communicate in a professional manner
- Prepare weekly Member A/R Aging reports
- Identify problem accounts and escalate appropriately
- Resolve customer issues to minimalize A/R disputes
- Maintain customer accounts, as needed
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and other monthly close duties as assigned
- Continuous evaluation of current policies and recommendations for process improvements
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Other ad hoc requests as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- College degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Ideal candidate will have 3+ years customer service experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Candidate will be required to complete and pass a background check screening upon offer of employment.
Job Competencies:
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Ability to use computers, including Windows-based programs
- Excellent speaking and written communication skills required
- Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
- Ability to work in and support a team environment
Work Environment:
Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of the workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
