About the role
Radar is looking for a Director of Compliance, Gaming to oversee our iGaming compliance efforts throughout North America. You’ll partner closely with our Co-Founder and CEO, Head of Gaming, and Head of Legal to nurture relationships with and be responsive to the needs of state and provincial regulators, build out Radar’s geo-compliance reporting structure for both operators and regulators, and generally ensure Radar’s compliance with state, provincial statutory, and regulatory iGaming requirements.You will report to our Vice President of Gaming Operations.
While we are open to remote candidates for the position, there’s a strong preference for NYC-area candidates. If local, this would be a NYC-based position located at our headquarters in Union Square. You'd be working from our New York office Monday-Thursday with the opportunity to WFH on Fridays. For candidates based in the United States, the base salary range for this full-time position is between $200,000 - $300,000/year with the opportunity for performance bonuses and incentives.In addition to cash compensation, Radar offers full-time employees stock option grants under its equity plan. This is a meaningful ownership stake in the company we provide to our employees as we build a category-defining company.Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. What you’ll do:
- Ensure Radar’s compliance with statutory and regulatory iGaming requirements throughout North America
- Build and execute a scalable geo-compliance reporting program for operators and regulators that addresses evolving regulations and reflects iGaming industry best practices
- Inform Radar’s overall geo-compliance and regulatory strategy
- Ensure Radar’s compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements related to geo-compliance, and mitigate the regulatory and operational risks to the business
- When appropriate to the extent possible, help influence geolocation policies to conform with evolving technologies and reflect best practices
- Nurture strong relationships with iGaming regulators, operators and other external stakeholders, and serve as a central point of contact for regulators' and operators’ geo-compliance needs
- Guide the rest of the business on how to use geolocation tools to inform operators, regulators, or law enforcement’s investigations related to fraudulent or suspicious betting activity
You should have:
- 3-5 years of experience working with North America iGaming regulators
- In-depth knowledge of iGaming regulatory requirements and the ability to ensure compliance with gaming laws and gecompliance reporting
- Track record of building and executing a robust compliance strategy and program in a highly regulated industry
- Proven success managing relationships with regulators, licensed operators, suppliers, and vendors, and navigating complex regulatory environments
- Experience using data to inform analysis pertaining to fraudulent or suspicious betting activity (i.e. bonus-abuse, chargebacks, device-sharing, prohibited persons, etc.)
- A strong legal and contractual background in the iGaming industry
