Senior Capture Manager
Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA and is seeking a
Senior Capture Manager.
This is a full-time hybrid position in Mclean, VA with occasional travel expected outside of the DMV area.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Shipley capture strategies to secure new federal government opportunities
- Lead capture efforts throughout the entire lifecycle, including opportunity identification, strategy development, proposal development, and client engagement that matures P-WIN
- Work closely with Business Development teams to align on strategic goals and objectives; identify new sales opportunities to pursue
- Identify and define win themes, discriminators, and assist in developing bid strategies
- Coordinate with technical teams and subject matter experts to create compelling proposals that meet client needs
- Maintain and manage relationships with key stakeholders within target agencies, potential partners, and vendors
- Conduct extensive market research to identify trends and competitive landscape within the federal space
- Create and maintain Agency Account Plans
- Prepare and deliver executive presentations and executive briefs to senior leadership and clients
- Manage capture timelines and resources to ensure successful bid submissions
- Stay abreast of OMB mandates, Technology trends, and other IT hot topics
- Attend key conferences, events, meetings, trainings, and other strategic events as needed
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience holding fulltime positions in a capture manager role; as Capture Manager, Account Executive, or similar roles; pursuing federal government opportunities
- 8+ years’ experience following Shipley lifecycle best practice processes in the business development, capture management, and proposal management areas; APMP certification a plus
- 8+ years of experience leading capture efforts for federal government opportunities that resulted in Wins
- 8+ years of experience contributing to proposal content areas
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, IT, or a related field, desired
- Agency knowledge and active relationships in any of these agency’s required: DOL, IRS, DOC NOAA, FDA, Department of Transportation, HHS, DOD, USDA
- Proven track record of winning federal contracts and establishing strong client relationships
- Strong understanding of federal acquisition processes and regulations, including FAR and DFARS
- Ability to develop and communicate effective capture strategies, win themes, and discriminators
- Demonstrated skills in managing cross-functional teams and leading solution development efforts that mature capture P-WIN
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to engage effectively with senior leadership, federal clients, partners, vendor, and staff
- AI experience a plus
- Familiarity with CRM tools and capture management software
- Ability to maintain and create detailed documentation leveraging the Microsoft tool Suite
- Strong analytical and research skills required, and attention to detail
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently
