As a Buyer at Knix, you will be a strategic leader for their specific categories by playing a pi/votal role in selecting merchandise that aligns with the brand's vision and meets the demands of our diverse customer base. You will be responsible for developing and executing category buying strategies to ensure optimal product assortment, inventory levels, and profitability while staying attuned to market trends and customer preferences. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as planning, marketing, ecomm and product development will be essential to drive product success and achieve business objectives.

The Opportunity


  • Develop and implement comprehensive category buying strategies in alignment with Knix's brand identity and business goals.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscapes.
  • Collaborate closely with the Merchandising and Design teams to translate market insights into compelling product assortments that resonate with Knix's target audience.
  • Monitor sales performance, inventory levels, and product lifecycle to optimize assortments, markdown strategies, and inventory turnover, while actively seeking out new opportunities to diversify product offerings and enhance competitiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships cross-functionally with merchandising, planning, marketing, ecommerce, retail and wholesale teams to ensure seamless execution of buying initiatives and alignment with overall business strategies.
  • Analyze sales data, forecast demand, and contribute to budget planning and financial goal setting.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in retail buying to continuously improve processes and drive innovation.
  • Uphold Knix's values of inclusivity, sustainability, and empowerment in all buying decisions and vendor partnerships.

Qualifications


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retail buying, preferably within the apparel or intimate apparel industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and executing strategic product plans, driving sales growth, and achieving financial targets.
  • Proven experience in retail buying, preferably within the fashion or apparel industry, with a strong understanding of product lifecycle management and inventory optimization.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and a keen eye for product aesthetics and quality.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and commitment to ethical sourcing and production standards is a plus.
