The Senior Director of eCommerce Logistics will be responsible for developing and executing logistics strategies that support both our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and Amazon sales channels. This role will ensure the efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of our products while upholding our commitment to sustainability and a leading customer experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in eCommerce logistics, including DTC and marketplace operations, and a strong passion for sustainable practices. This role will be reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and be a core member of the Operations Leadership Team.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive logistics strategy for both DTC and Amazon channels, aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
- Oversee the design and execution of logistics and supply chain processes to optimize inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution across both channels.
- Proactively identify opportunities to deliver an enhanced customer experience or improve efficiencies, and work closely with the eCommerce team to bring the inititaves to life.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing logistics team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Operational Excellence:
- Manage day-to-day logistics operations for DTC and Amazon channels, including warehousing, transportation, and last-mile delivery, ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee relationship with our partner third party logistics providers (3PLs) for our DTC business, collaborating on improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with the eCommerce team to ensure seamless integration of logistics with overall business operations.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to drive data-informed decisions and process enhancements for both sales channels.
- Customer Focus:
- Ensure exceptional customer service by delivering products on time and managing returns and exchanges effectively for both DTC and Amazon customers.
- Develop strategies to enhance the customer experience through improved delivery options and communication for both sales channels.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the logistics budget, optimizing costs while maintaining high service levels for both direct-to-consumer and Amazon operations.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements across the logistics network.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices for logistics operations.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to address potential disruptions and ensure business continuity for both DTC and Amazon channels.
We're Excited About You Because
- Extensive experience in eCommerce logistics, including direct-to-consumer and marketplace operations (Amazon experience is a plus), with a proven track record.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation (including last mile-delivery), inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Previous roles should include managing logistics for fast-paced, high-volume operations.
- Proven track record of leading and managing teams effectively, including hiring, training, and mentoring staff.
- A strong appetite for using data to solve problems and identify opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing sustainable logistics practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience owning a budget and leading negotiations with suppliers and vendors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in the pet food or consumer goods industry is a plus.
- An interest in sustainability and working for a mission-based organization.
