About the role
As the Senior Manager/Manager, Collateral Management, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Cash & Collateral Management.You will be responsible for collaborating with a number of stakeholders to further build out our collateral & cash management capabilities for existing products, as well as prepare for new product launches. On top of this, you will be leading the day-to-day collateral processes as well as designing and implementing collateral transformations to optimize.This role presents a unique opportunity for you to make a significant impact on Wealthsimple's financial operations, contribute to our growth and success, and leverage your expertise in a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry.We manage billions of dollars, so the stakes are high.

In this role, you will:
- Build and oversee our Treasury Settlements & Collateral Management function
- Manage day-to-day collateral processes as well as cash settlement processes with a focus on meeting daily collateral calls and treasury money movements that power products
- Manage our collateral sources and uses; and implement optimization engine to maximize for liquidity and economics
- Design and implement collateral management procedures for new products
- Work with stakeholders to forecast and anticipate growth in collateral requirements, and develop a playbook to operationalize this
- Problem-solve and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to support the launch and scale of new products, and to support scaling of existing ones
- Provide thought leadership and advise on key business decisions relating to collateral management
- Build processes, establish metrics and stand up a structure that provides visibility into holistic collateral needs across the brokerage
Skills we’re looking for:
- Relevant Experience: 5+ years experience working in a collateral & cash management capacity. Specifically experience working with the DTC, CDS, or OCC is an asset.
- Organization & Planning: plans, organizes, and schedules efficiently. You prioritize effectively, balancing day to day with project work.
- Data & Analytics: a history of using data to answer complex problems and inform decisions. SQL & modeling skills are an asset.
- Collaboration: excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in collaboration with various team members, as well as a track record of leading cross-functional projects.
- Strong Written & Verbal Communication: speaks plainly and truthfully. Communicates complex ideas in a simple & easy-to-understand way for any audience (e.g. engineering, 3rd party vendors, growth/operational teams, executive team).
- Problem Solving: if something seems off, you want to figure out what’s going on; you enjoy navigating uncertainty, bringing clarity to ambiguity and don’t wait for a playbook to be written.
- Proactive & Action Oriented: acts without being told what to do; takes full ownership of work, and proactively seeks help and input when needed to provide well-supported solutions.
- Efficiency: the ability to produce significant output with minimum wasted effort; finds the path of least resistance to the problem definition, solution and execution.
- Honesty/Integrity: doesn't cut corners; does what is right, not what is politically expedient.
