Every team member has the opportunity to leave a direct and lasting impact as we strive to become the leading company in better textiles.As we continue to expand and enhance our manufacturing capabilities, we are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team. This position will work closely with the VP of Process Engineering to optimize production processes and support the development of new fiber and polymer products.The Process Engineer will be responsible for improving and optimizing fiber and polymer processing systems within SRTX’s manufacturing operations.

This role involves analyzing current processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency, product quality, and sustainability. The Process Engineer will work on scaling up new products from pilot to full-scale production and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality, to ensure seamless integration of new processes into manufacturing.Responsibilities

Process Optimization & Improvement:


  • Analyze existing fiber and polymer manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement in productivity and product quality.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to implement process improvements that enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product consistency.
  • Develop and document best practices for fiber extrusion, polymer processing, and other manufacturing processes.

Scale-Up & New Product Development:


  • Support the scale-up of new fiber and polymer products from pilot-scale development to full-scale production.
  • Work closely with the VP of Process Engineering, R&D, and production teams to ensure new processes are scalable and meet the necessary performance and quality standards.
  • Assist in transitioning new technologies and processes from R&D into production, ensuring smooth integration and operational readiness.

Data Analysis & Process Control:


  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to monitor process performance and identify trends or deviations.
  • Implement process control methodologies to ensure consistent production quality and minimize variability in fiber and polymer products.
  • Use data-driven decision-making to improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainability.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, quality, and automation, to ensure seamless process integration and optimization.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing issues related to fiber and polymer processing equipment.
  • Assist in the implementation of automation and digital technologies to improve process control and operational efficiency.

Documentation & Compliance:


  • Prepare detailed technical documentation for all processes, including process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting guides.
  • Ensure that all processes comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Support the VP of Process Engineering in maintaining a continuous improvement culture within the process engineering team.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in fiber, polymer, or textile manufacturing, with a focus on process optimization and improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber extrusion, polymer processing, and related manufacturing technologies.
  • Proven experience in scaling up production processes from pilot to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, statistical process control, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity with automation and process control systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
