Description
We are seeking a Data Scientist, Risk specializing in risk analysis to join our fast-growing scaleup. In this role, you will work closely with the data and risk teams to develop insights that drive business decisions. Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, process, and analyze data related to risk.
- Use SQL to extract and manipulate data from various databases.
- Develop and implement risk models using Python to assess potential business risks.
- Support the team in identifying trends and patterns in large datasets to aid in risk mitigation strategies.
- Assist in preparing visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Work with data engineers to ensure data pipelines and databases are efficient and meet the needs of risk analyses.
- Participate in regular team meetings to review progress and refine data-driven risk management strategies.
- Show initiative and adaptability in a fast-paced, startup environment, where priorities can shift quickly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and querying.
- Experience with Python, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
- Basic understanding of statistical concepts and their application in risk analysis.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn).
- Some exposure to or interest in data engineering concepts (e.g., data pipelines, ETL processes).
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision in a startup environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a quantitative field, economics, business, engineering, or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in data science or risk analysis.
- Experience working with risk-related data in industries such as finance, insurance, or healthcare is a bonus but not required
