Development Manager

Endy is looking for an experienced Development Manager to lead our company’s talented team of web developers and oversee the technical improvements of our eCommerce website. In this role, you will lead our Web Team and be hands-on in development, delivering features and initiatives that capture emerging trends in the e-commerce space.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about building teams and solutions that scale. You must have strong communication skills and a desire to solve problems, manage risk, drive innovation, and champion collaborative decision-making. You will take part in planning, resourcing, and estimating projects while providing mentorship and growth opportunities for your team. You will also collaborate across different crafts and department leads to understand project objectives, refine feature requirements, and make well-reasoned technical decisions based on scope, complexity, and resources.

What You'll Do:


  • Be accountable for driving solution development and overseeing the management of product content
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to enable teams to deliver solutions that meet business requirements and serve our diverse customer base
  • Monitor competitive websites, industry trends, new technology, and digital services and recommend investment in best-in-class 3rd party tools, ensuring that Endy is staying at the forefront of industry standards
  • Evolve our CMS to ensure it continues to be performant, easy to use, and meets our business needs
  • Be a mentor to your team and help them achieve their career goals through coaching, regular feedback, and helping them take on projects aligned with their strengths, skills, and professional goals
  • Contribute to code reviews with constructive feedback, oversee coding process to produce clean code with a focus on maintainability, scalability, improving performance, and managing technical debt
  • Provide visibility into the team's impact and priorities to senior leadership

Who You Are:


  • 4+ years technical experience in a production development environment, with experience leading a team of developers
  • Strong technical roots in Javascript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks such as React
  • Experience with Typescript, Next.js, Vercel, Sanity.io, Liquid, and Shopify is a plus
  • Champion for AODA standards and industry best practices
  • Comfortable being hands-on and contributing to code daily
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. You've got experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders and keeping them informed and aligned
  • Ability to methodically manage team workload and tech debt and self-organize multiple tasks while completing them in a timely manner
  • Attention to detail: Patience, laser focus, and an ability to look at your own work with an objective eye
