Genies is looking for a versatile and innovative Senior XR Developer to join the XR team at our Los Angeles headquarters. In this role, you will implement experiences across multiple platforms to explore the boundaries of avatar interaction. Your exceptional design sense and advanced technical abilities will play a pivotal role in crafting immersive and groundbreaking experiences in XR utilizing novel avatar technologies. What You’ll be Doing:
- Engineering: Implement user-friendly and visually stunning XR prototypes based on Product Design Descriptions using Unity and other real-time platforms suitable for both headwear and mobile devices, including iOS, Meta Quest and Apple Vision Pro
- Technical Design: Using your design expertise, translate high level design documents into specific avatar interaction and game design details for a high quality and memorable user experience
- Autonomous Development: Break down high level User Stories into Milestones and Tasks, collaborating with your Lead in an Agile process to ensure predictable completion times of longterm XR Roadmap goals
What You Should Have:
- Experience developing XR products and prototypes autonomously, including time management, prioritization of tasks, and cross-department communication
- Expertise in content creation for XR, including a working knowledge of shader development, lighting, rigging/IK, blendshapes, and animation
- Thorough understanding of the latest XR technologies, developer kits, and computer vision sensors
- Strong understanding of 3D skeletal systems, state machines, and animation techniques to support embodiment and avatar interaction
- Experience with formal design process or hunger to learn
- 7+ years of experience in senior roles focusing on XR in games, spatial computing, virtual production, or related fields
- Advanced programming/scripting skills in languages such as C#, C++, Objective-C, Swift, Java
- Fluent in Agile workflows and Object Oriented design principles
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, crucial for working autonomously within a complex matrix of evolving dependencies
- Strong understanding of a start-up environment, and the expectation that you may be asked to demo products, contribute expert opinions, or otherwise remain flexible to pivots and asks from leadership which may at times disrupt weekly Sprints or reprioritize Milestones and Projects

The actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including: professional background, training, transferable skills, work experience, education, location, business and product needs, and market demand. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Full-time employees may also be eligible for equity compensation, in addition to a robust health, wellness, and benefits package. Starting Salary Range: $160,000 to $220,000
