Highly skilled Accounting Manager with specific experience in government contracting. This individual will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, ensure compliance with federal regulations, and manage the financial reporting process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), CAS (Cost Accounting Standards), and DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounting Operations: Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and government regulations.
- Government Contract Compliance: Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and DCAA regulations. Monitor and manage government contracts to ensure accurate billing, revenue recognition, and cost allocations.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Audits: Serve as the primary contact for internal and external audits, including DCAA audits, and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Cost Accounting: Oversee cost pools, indirect rates, and ensure proper cost allocations for government contracts.
- ERP Systems Management: Maintain and optimize accounting systems, including integration with government contract management tools.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Government contracting experience is mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA regulations, and GAAP. Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, QuickBooks).
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial data and compliance reporting.

- Experience with ERP systems integration and upgrades
- Experience with financial reporting for multiple legal entities in a government contracting environment
