Quality Technician
to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in reshaping the future of power generation and distribution.Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the
Quality Technician
performs duties related to various quality processes including incoming material quality checks and inspections, controlling nonconforming material, supporting product quality testing, final inspection of finished goods, and final quality package assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
Incoming Quality Control Measurements
- Conduct measurements and inspections on incoming raw materials and components to ensure they meet specified quality standards.
- Record and report any non-conformities in materials received and communicate with suppliers for corrective actions.
Product Release to Finished Goods, Final Inspection, and Final Quality Package Assembly
- Conduct final inspections on products before release to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
- Assemble the final quality control package, including all necessary documentation, to accompany finished goods.
Product Quality Traceability, Verifications, and Inspections
- Maintain product quality traceability by documenting all quality-related activities and inspections throughout the production process.
- Ensure that measurement tools and gauges are properly calibrated, verified, and meet required accuracy standards.
- Verify that materials used in production and the associated processes comply with company and regulatory standards.
- Perform in-process inspections to monitor adherence to production and process specifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years in manufacturing quality inspection.
- Associate degree in manufacturing technology or related programs.
- Prior experience reading/interpreting engineering drawings/blueprints.
- Prior experience verifying/calibrating dimensional gauges.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Able to perform measurements with dimensional gauges and metrology equipment.
- Intermediate knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Mastery of data entry using computers and web-based software systems.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
This position requires frequent standing, walking, reaching with arms, using hands, talking, and hearing. Some sitting, climbing, stooping, crawling, or crouching will be needed. Frequent lifting/carrying/moving of up to 10 pounds will be needed and, in some instances, lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds will be required.
