Reporting to the CHRO, the HR Operations Director is a key member of the HR team who ensures competitive, cost-effective benefits packages which align with business objectives. The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing total reward strategies to attract, retain, and motivate employees while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role is also responsible for people data analytics and reporting for the organization.
Experience in designing and implementing total rewards programs is needed. The successful candidate will have a roll up your sleeves attitude with the desire to perform work in all areas of total rewards.This role also has oversight of the payroll function.
What you will do:
Compensation
- Develop, implement and manage compensation structures that align with the company's goals and industry standards.
- Collaborate on annual salary review processes, including merit increases, promotions, and adjustments.
- Conduct market surveys, regular benchmarking and analysis to ensure the competitiveness of compensation packages.
Benefits
- Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs, including benefit plans, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and all other fringe benefits
- Evaluate benefit plan options and make recommendations to HR leadership based on cost-effectiveness and employee needs
- Manage the administration of employee leave of absences
Overall
- Assist with the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to compensation and benefits
- Conduct audits and reviews of total rewards programs to ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations governing compensation and benefits.
- Manage and maintain HRIS (UKG) and all connections to/from the system (APIs, SFTPs) for Benefits and Compensation modules.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Develop and deliver communication materials, presentations, and training sessions to educate leadership, employees and HR on compensation and benefits programs
- Actively engages and collaborates within the HR leadership team to provide support, identify potential opportunities or risks, and advocate for the best interests of the employees and company.
- Oversee reporting and analytics of all people-related, compensation, and benefits data and ensure KPIs are developed and communicated to key stakeholders.
- Work directly with third party vendors and our benefits brokers
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- UKG experience preferred
- 5+ years of proven benefits and compensation management experience
- 3+ years leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience setting up total compensation programs
- Strong understanding of compensation principles, practices, and trends, including base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity compensation
- In-depth knowledge of compensation and employee benefits programs, regulatory requirements, and compliance issues in the US. Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing compensation and benefits, such as ERISA, ACA, FLSA, FMLA, etc.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, conduct financial analysis, and provide actionable insights
